Furniture that is truly custom – designed and crafted specifically for you. Our custom design service provides the unique opportunity to work directly with a regional artisan, who will create the quality furniture that meets your distinct tastes and needs.

When you invest in the custom experience you are sharing in the rich tradition at the heart of studio furniture. Northwest Fine Woodworking is a vibrant community of woodworkers, each with their own strengths and vision. We strive to balance innovation and tradition and provide something for everyone. But, with so many options to choose from how do we find that perfect craftsperson for you?

THE RIGHT WOODWORKER FOR THE PROJECT:
Each woodworker has a distinctive design style, so we suggest you browse our furniture selection to find the artist that speaks to you. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Contact us with the details of your project. Our salespeople make regular visits to artists’ studios, and a day doesn’t go by when we don’t see at least one of our members chatting about furniture in the gallery.

With nearly 30 years of beautiful projects, our salespeople will have many options to offer for your particular project. Please share which artist, pieces, or details most interest you. Please note that our artisans do not do reproductions of any kind, nor do they do repairs or alter existing furniture not of their own creation.

THE CUSTOM DESIGN FEE:
Where sketches, drawings or models are required there is an initial design fee starting at $250. This design fee will be deducted from the final cost of your furniture commission.

PLACING THE ORDER:
A 50% deposit is required to initiate each project with the remaining balance due upon completion of the work. When you place your order, we will provide written confirmation including a description of the piece, the name of the commissioned artisan, the costs, as well as the estimated date of delivery. Artists have varying delivery times, but most orders take 6 - 18 weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the job and availability of the artisan
