Description:
These chairs make use of the live edge of the boards to create an organic, natural edge. The name came about when Hank was considering the name "hip hop". A shop mate said "Hip Hobbit more like it", and the name stuck.
These chairs can be custom ordered in a variety of different woods, and due to the natural edge, each one is unique.
The top chair was made from spalted madrone wood for a show at the University of Victoria in 2007. The bottom chair is made from spalted maple.
