The 4th annual Rising Star Furniture Showcase will be hosted in our new Belltown location this Spring. Rising Star Furniture is a juried show, highlighting the work of non-member woodworkers...the region's next generation of talented wood-artists. This event is revered by designers, architects and collectors, as well as our discerning clientele.
To be considered for participation please submit up to three designs for review by our jury. The deadline to send in your submission is February 20th, 2012.
- Must be finely crafted artisan furniture, new to our gallery and utilizing some wood in the design.
- Send professional quality, high-res digital images of each design - maximum of 3 views per design. (Please resize the photos so that the file is no more than 1mb at a 3x5 size).
- Include a detailed description of the item: name, materials, dimensions, finish, the wholesale price. (Emails sent without pricing for each design will be disregarded!)
- Send the requested information to director@nwwoodgallery.com with "Rising Star jury" and your name in the subject line.
The jury will notify selected participants by March 16th, 2012 but may contact artists in the weeks prior for more information in support of your design. Dates for delivering the work to our gallery for final review in early April will be shared confidentially with those accepted.
The show opens in late April with an evening reception at our new gallery space for the artists, family & friends and the public. The furniture will be presented with bio info on each artist. Additionally, one individual will be designated the 2012 Award of Distinction by the jury panel and given a Spotlight to showcase new furniture pieces in the gallery in October 2012.
