Northwest
Fine Woodworking first opened its doors in June of 1980 in
a small location in the historic Pioneer Square district of
Seattle. It was founded by a small group of members within
the NW Guild of Fine Woodworking who wanted a venue to display
and sell their work. In the early years each member put in
their own time as a salesperson and worked to renovate and
manage the gallery.
From those humble beginnings Northwest Fine
Woodworking has grown to include over 29 members and 200
nonmembers as well as a full staff of knowledgeable salespeople
to represent these artisans and craftspeople. Over the years
Northwest Fine Woodworking has continued to adhere to the
high standards of craftsmanship and design established by
its first members. In 1996 the gallery moved to a much larger
location on First and Jackson Street in
Seattle.
