Lacewood

Many different woods are called lacewood including Australian Lacewood, Fishtail Oak, Silky Oak, European Plane and Sycamore.
Australian lacewood (Cardwellia sublimis), shown in the image above, is an orange brown colored wood and when quartered has a distinct fish scale-like pattern.
European plane (Platanus hybrida) when quartered, has a pinkish to orange brown color with fish scale-like patterns and rays.
